How to make a payment

Short answer: not here. Your payment goes to the provider named on your agreement. Here is how to find them, and what to do about early payoff or a month that is looking tight.

Read this first

Payments do not come to Terrace Finance. We are a platform that routed your application — the agreement you signed is with a lender or lessor, and that provider collects the payments through its own portal. Their name is on the first page of your agreement.

If you cannot find the agreement or cannot work out who the provider is, call 888-509-1370. We can see which providers received your file and will point you to the right one. We cannot take the payment for you, but we can get you to the place that can.

Four steps

How to make a payment

1

Find the provider

Open the agreement that was emailed to you when you signed. The lender or lessor name is on the first page, along with their contact details and portal address.

2

Open their portal

Log in to the payment portal named in the agreement, or call the number it lists. Most providers also accept payment by phone.

3

Pay, or set up autopay

Enrolling in automatic payments is the simplest way to avoid a late fee, and some providers discount for it. Check the date it draws against your pay cycle.

4

Ask about early payoff

If you can settle sooner, ask for today’s payoff figure in writing. On a lease agreement this is usually where the real money is saved.

Why

Why the payment does not come to us

This trips people up often enough that it is worth a plain explanation rather than a line of small print.

What we did

We took one application and ran it through a network of more than 60 lenders and lessors until one was willing to make you an offer. That is the whole of our role, and it ended when you signed.

What the provider does

They wrote the contract, set the rate or lease charge, funded the merchant, and now hold the account. Billing, due dates, payoff quotes, hardship arrangements and any credit reporting are all theirs.

Where to take each kind of question

Payments, payoff figures, due dates, late fees, autopay and credit reporting go to your provider. Questions about goods, delivery or warranty go to the merchant. Questions about which provider holds your file, or about an application still in progress, come to us on 888-509-1370.

Worth knowing

Early payoff, missed payments and credit

Early purchase options

Several lease programs include a same-as-cash window — commonly 30 days, or 90 to 101 days. Paying inside it typically costs close to the retail price instead of the full total of payments. Use the lease calculator to see the difference on your purchase.

If money is tight this month

Call the provider before the due date. Deferral, rescheduling and skip-a-payment options exist on many programs and cost far less than a missed payment and a late fee. Waiting until after the date removes most of the options.

Whether it reaches your credit file

Reporting is the provider’s decision, not ours. Some report to Equifax, some report completed leases to TransUnion, some do not report at all. See the Credit Pull Policy for how to check and dispute what appears.

Questions

Payment questions

Can I make a payment on this website?

No, and this is the single most common point of confusion. Terrace Finance is a platform, not a lender. Your agreement is with the lender or lessor named on it, and that provider collects the payments through its own portal.

How do I find out who holds my agreement?

Look at the signed agreement emailed to you — the provider's name is on the first page. If you cannot find it, call 888-509-1370 and we will tell you which provider received your file and how to reach them.

Can I pay my balance off early?

Most programs allow early payoff, and several lease programs include an early purchase option, commonly 30 days or 90 to 101 days same as cash. On a lease this is usually the single largest saving available. Ask the provider for the exact payoff figure today, in writing.

What happens if I miss a payment?

Contact the provider before the due date if you can see it coming — most have hardship or deferral options that are far cheaper than a missed payment. Late fees, reinstatement rights and whether a missed payment is reported to credit bureaus are all set by the provider and by your state's law.

Will my payments build my credit?

It depends on the provider. Some report to the credit bureaus, some do not, and some report only completed agreements. Ask before signing — and remember a program that reports on-time payments also reports the ones you miss.

I was charged something I do not recognise.

Raise it with the provider first, since they issued the charge. If that does not resolve it, you can escalate — see the licenses and disclosures page for where to file.
