Licenses and state disclosures
Who we are in regulatory terms, what that means for the agreement you sign, and where to go if something goes wrong.

Our regulatory status
Terrace Finance Corp. is not a lender or a lessor. We operate a technology platform that processes applications and presents them to third-party lenders and lessors. We do not make credit decisions, we do not set rates or terms, and we do not fund or service transactions.
The licensed party in any transaction is the provider that makes you an offer and whose name appears on your agreement. Ask that provider for its licence details, and verify them with your state regulator before signing.
[List here any licences, registrations or exemptions Terrace Finance Corp. itself holds, by state and licence number, and the states in which it operates under an exemption. This section must be completed by counsel — an incomplete licensing disclosure is a common source of regulatory action.]
Lease-purchase and loans are different products
The network offers both, and the distinction changes your rights.
- A loan or retail installment contract is credit. You own the item from the start, cost is disclosed as an APR under the federal Truth in Lending Act, and you owe the balance whether or not you keep the goods.
- A lease-purchase agreement is not credit and has no APR. The lessor owns the item until you complete the payments or exercise an early purchase option. Cost is disclosed as the total of payments, which may significantly exceed the cash price. Under a true lease you may generally return the item in good condition and owe nothing further.
Read which one you are signing. The heading on the agreement will say.
Why availability differs by state
Consumer credit and rental-purchase agreements are regulated state by state. Each state sets its own rules on disclosures, permissible fees, reinstatement rights after a missed payment and early purchase pricing, and each provider decides which states to license and operate in.
Certain product categories carry further restrictions. Several states limit or prohibit lease-purchase agreements covering live animals, which is why pet financing availability is confirmed during the application rather than promised in advance.
See availability by state for the general picture, and let the application confirm the specifics for your situation.
Equal credit opportunity
Federal law prohibits creditors from discriminating against credit applicants on the basis of race, colour, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, age (provided the applicant has the capacity to contract), because all or part of the applicant’s income derives from a public assistance programme, or because the applicant has in good faith exercised a right under the Consumer Credit Protection Act.
If you believe you have been discriminated against, you may complain to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau or to the federal agency that supervises the provider named on your agreement.
About the figures on this site
Program amounts, terms and features shown on this site are illustrative examples of what exists in the network. They are not an offer, not a commitment to lend or lease, and not a disclosure under the Truth in Lending Act or any state lease-purchase statute.
Approval, approval amount and terms are determined by the provider after underwriting and are disclosed to you in writing before you sign. Calculators and estimates are illustrations only.
Where to complain
Start with the provider named on your agreement, since the decision and the servicing are theirs. If that does not resolve it:
- Consumer Financial Protection Bureau — consumerfinance.gov/complaint or 1-855-411-2372
- Your state attorney general or state financial regulator, which supervises rental-purchase and consumer lending in your state
- Federal Trade Commission — reportfraud.ftc.gov for advertising and unfair practice concerns
- Better Business Bureau — our file is public, including every complaint on it
